Exploring Indiana’s Piece of Wine Country

Wineries exude the image of class and elegance. Picture a long-stemmed wine glass glistening in the sun perched atop a table that overlooks an expansive vineyard. When you conjure up this image, do you picture yourself somewhere like Napa Valley or do you think of Northeast Indiana?

No, that wasn’t a typo. Northeast Indiana has many, many wineries that offer a wide variety of wines. Whether you prefer a full-bodied wine with a hint of a smoky aftertaste or a blush with a bouquet of fruity notes, Indiana has many options for you to explore.

The most recent winery, TWO-EE’s, is breaking ground in Roanoke and is set to open in 2012. TWO-EE’s describes itself as “a fusion of city sophistication and countryside charms…a culture rich retreat that will nurture an appreciation for the personalized art of wine production.” Started by newly engaged couple Emily Hart and Eric Harris, TWO-EE’s is a wonderful addition to Indiana’s list of wineries. Visit TWO-EE’s website.

Wineries are more than just a place to relax; they also attract tourism, which ultimately adds to the economic prosperity of the region. Who said economic development couldn’t be enjoyable? Click here to explore the wineries around the region and try a sip yourself!
